Whilst Madarao is a powder mecca there are lots of other things to do. So if you want a break or your companion is not so keen on the snow we can provide some alternatives.

The obvious choices are a trip to the snow monkeys, a day trip to Tokyo, a trip to Joetsu, Nagano or Iiyama for some shopping. We can arrange any of these for you with a few days notice.

If you are in Japan at the right time there are various festivals and annual events. These include local fire festivals and the well known Nozawa Fire festival. We can arrange a tour to these events. Again with some tours minimum numbers are required.

There is a local bus that will take you to and from Iiyama or Madarao Kogen Station. You could catch the bus to a station and then catch a train in either direction for a relaxed days outing. Go to Nagano and shop at the Tokyu food plaza. Adventure a bit further and go to the outlet shops at Karuizawa. There are over 200 stores in the outlet centre.

If you are going to Joetsu or Nagano try to visit 2nd Street. They have great bargains on all sorts of gear including Jackets, boards and skis.

We will be arranging other activites and will be posting the details here so check back later for more information.
