In the other direction you can go to Nozawa Onsen with its tradition village, Togari Onsen with its ungroomed runs or impressive Kijimadaira. Turn right at the bottom of the mountain instead of left and you can got to Ryuoo with its cable car or the many resorts collectively known as Shiga Kogen.
